Commissioned by the City of Boston in South Boston, across from the Broadway T-stop.
All of my tiger works are inspired by Korean Minhwa paintings. This mural in particular manifests yin and yang principles of balance. One side has a resting tiger with its eyes closed, and the other side has a fierce tiger with a stance ready to attack. This side faces the Broadway T stop and is manifesting protection for those riding the train. The tiger is there to protect, but like all of us, they deserves rest. The two sides depict a flowing river and flames. Contrasting elements that represent yin calming and peacful energy and yang fiery energetic energy. The birds flying through the clouds on top are a special treat for tall friends and short friends who jump! The cranes look back at eachother as they fly representing community care.
