Dirt Dance Farm

Dirt Dance Farm is a small diversified vegetable operation owned and operated by Sarah Chien, a queer Chinese-American, Jewish, farmer. Dirt Dance takes a special interest in Asian American heritage crops (50% of the crop list originates from Asian countries, thanks to her Chinese aunties’ recommendations) as well as unique international specialty crops that she’s encountered touring as a dancer throughout the Americas and Europe. Dirt Dance exists to feed our community with nutritious, culturally diverse produce; and demonstrate that art and farming belong together.  The farm is located at The Esopus Agricultural Center in Kingston, NY. This small but mighty human-scale operation uses organic and regenerative practices including cover cropping, crop rotation, drip irrigation, reduced tillage, reusable mulch and no synthetic sprays or fertilizers
